It's a game they played,
The ultimate game of chance.

I played that game for years.
And I always won.
A different girl when ever I played
And I never got a bullet.
I saw my friends get shot down
One by one,
Shot with bullets of what they called "love".
I guess I should have known my time would come.
No-one can win every game.
I saw you across the hazy bar.
And I wanted to play.
I knew I would win.
I always do.
You gave me your number
And I wanted to throw it away, like all the rest.
One chance is all you have to shoot me down,
I always move on to another round.
But I kept it.
I called you up, a week later.
Wanted to talk,
To see you again.
A good month went by, before I felt the pain.
When I saw another person, in another bar
And I wanted to play again.
Something stopped me though.
I kept seeing your face.
And it hurt, right in my chest.
You shot me.
You took the chance,

And managed to get it right.
You shot me straight in the chest,
Square in the heart.
I guess that this would make me a loser.
Lost the hardest game of chance.
I don't mind so much, though,
